Some 850 people took part in the extreme right-wing march entitled “For law and order. Against left-wing extremism and politically motivated violence”.

The organizer, the local politician of the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) in Aachen Ferhat Sentürk, had initially spoken of 1,200 participants.

On the other hand, Some 2,000 people protested loudly against the neo-Nazi demonstration. According to the police, there were ten counter-demonstrations which prevented neo-Nazis from advancing more than 200 metres.

After about four hours, the leader of the neo-Nazi demonstration ended the event prematurely. A total of 1,500 policemen were monitoring the two demonstrations in Friedrichshain and Mitte.
